Does Sydney Sweeney Collect Stamps?

Who is Sydney Bernice Sweeney? Born in Spokane, Washington, in 1997 she is a multi-Emmy Award nominated American actress, best known for her made-for TV work in Everything Sucks!, The Handmaid’s Tale, Sharp Objects, Euphoria and The White Lotus. She had a small role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. She is also a movie producer and a model, a rising star in Hollywood. I first saw her in the Rolling Stones' promotional video for their 2023 single Angry taken from their Hackney Diamonds album. 

Sydney is my kind of girl - attractive, slim, buxom and blond. Her success comes as a result of audtioning for every role she could get since the age of twelve. That's quite some work ethic! What's not to like about her? Well, supposedly, her politics. Sydney is a gun-owning, card-carrying Republican, a Trump supporter. According to the poltically biased British 'Independent' (Ha!) of 06 August 2025, she is now "the poster girl for Trump's America". Others go farther, saying she is the "poster girl for White Supremacy", a Nazi to boot!

The cause of this fuss is an ad that Sydney recently made for American Eagle jeans whose target market is primarily young adults and teenagers within the 15 - 25 age range. The ad's punchline is "Sydney Sweeney has great jeans". Apparently 'jeans'  is an unsubtle play on words, a pun that references 'genes'  ie. her Whiteness.  This and the fact that she is quietly unapologetic has the Left spitting nails. The American Left now demand nothing less than that you accept their argument that she is a Nazi, decry her Whiteness. embrace every other skin colour and shut up. Unbelievably the obvious proof of Sydney's Nazi affiliation is in her initials - "SS"! If you cannot accept the Left's argument you are obviously a Nazi too. Clearly the race obsessed American Left has achieved lift-off in departing its rockers.

According to the Left the American Eagle ad is using race to sell jeans. However, with the majority of its customers are White. It makes commercial sense to promote their product using an attractive and natural-looking young White woman tothis demographic. The Left's problem is the model's skin colour. Simply put, the Left object to the American Eagle ad because Sydney is White. Any model of another skin colour would be automatically acceptable to them. The socialist Left promotes diversity but not commercial commonsense!

American Eagle's choice of a blue-eyed blond befitting the demographic of its customers is an anthema to the Left's agenda of one-sided multi-culturalism. Sadly, too many companies comply with their demand for DEI in all things. The result is "go woke, go broke". This  happened to the once undeniably British car manufacturer Jaguar.  (Remember alpha male James Bond's E-Type Jaguar?) Sadly, Jaguar's British ownership is now somewhat diluted, as its own self-image. This once blue-blooded company opted for LGBQT pink.  The financial Bottom Line is that Jaguar's embracing of woke saw it begin to go broke. The market, not Political Correctness, decided the outcome! American Eagle's share price surged by more than 11 per cent after Sydney's 'racy' ad campaign was released.

I hope that no apology is forthcoming from either American Eagle or Sydney. In the ad Sydney is not apologetic for the cute slimness of her backside which is well-presented by her wearing of American Eagle jeans. It says a lot about the Left's double standards that they would not have objected at all to any of this  had an actress of another race taken her part saying exactly the same lines! The indignant funk of their woke self-righteous racism even carries over to this side of the pond. The liberal British mainstream media has very lagely endorsed the American Left's argument that this ad is a cruel racist outrage. Fortunately their malign influence is now on the wane. Few except the indoctrinated believe them any more!

So, does Sydney Sweeney collect stamps?

Being a young and talented member of Gen Z, I imagine that she does not. She is a modern woman with a self-defined career and a life to look forward to. She is not idling away her time as we collectors do. Nor is she held back waiting for a man, Godot or the Left to show her the way. Among her leisure activities are Mixed Martial Arts, dirt bikes, wakeboarding, skydiving and operating heavy machinery. She thinks maths is cool. When she is not acting or modelling she produces movies and as a member of the NRA keeps a handgun warm on the firing range.

So no, she is unlikely to collect stamps, unlike her grandad, whom she likely remembers with some fondness rather than with the bile of the Left's Obama-prescribed gender dysfunctions. I doubt that Sydney will hold stamp collecting against you, quaint and out-dated as it is to her. However, she will probably defend your right to your hobby, unlike the Left who only see in it the perpetuation of all past evils, war,  slavery, imperialism, colonialism, capitalism and elitism. Yes, there were many things wrong in the past, the Inquisition, the KKK, Kings and Queens, Communism, Stalinism, the Stazi, the Nazis, Islamic fundamentalism, the Nats and soon perhaps the corrupt and criminal ANC. If it does not clean up its act the Democraic Party of the USA will go the way of stamp-collecting ..... Death by irrelevance.

So, no, you are unlikely to bump into Sydney at the next stamp fair you visit. However, she is the kind of girl young men dream of meeting because she is not yet a cosmetically enhanced, latex clad, artificial, over-sized celebrity, distant, contrived and politically correct, unfunny and foul-mouthed. Sydney offers young men everywhere an attainable, fresh-faced natural vision of what it is possible to meet any day of the week in blue jeans. The American Eagle ad has raised the lid on a can of the worst kind of woke worms.

Undoubtedly, there is a need for some wokeness in our lives today as a sympathetic awareness of social inequalities and injustices. We share this  history as truths and facts. I have been accused of being 'almost woke' by the South African Collectors Society, some of whom did not like my revisionist take on British colonialism and imperialism.  I believe I can do that as a Right wing conservative. However, in capturing and manipulating 'wokeness' as a political belief system the Left have created a one-eyed monster. Sydney's ad is a step towards ending their super-woke cultural tyranny! American Eagle's ad is a ball-peen hammer nailing a tack into its coffin. Sydney deserves a medal for her courage. Others now need to step forward to bury the cyclopean beast with earth-moving machinery.
