Czechoslovakian Forces Cover?
Quote from Jamie Smith on September 11, 2020, 10:45 pmI show a cover from a British F.P.O. in Hamburg which poses a few questions - Can anyone help? the cover appears to have Czechoslovakian connections and appears to be commercial but.... Here are my questions.
- Who were 'Czechoslovak Forwarding Limited'?
- Were Czechoslovak forces serving in Germany in 1949?
- Was Zivnestenska Banka also an 'Under Cover Address'?
- If this is a genuine commercial cover what is it doing in a B.F.P.O. with British stamps on it?
As a point of interest I have since writing the cover up found out that the C.F.L.'s HAPEG House address is that of the 'Hamburg-Amerika Packetfahrt-Aktien-Gesellschaft' Company for shipping across the Atlantic Ocean.
