Philatelic outreach.
The South African Philately Club and the Poynton Philatelic Society, have launched a joint philatelic outreach to all to join us in our wonderful hobby, we are concentrating on the youth and the senior citazens, especially the lonely veterans. The youth because of the educational value of our hobby and the senior members of our communities because there are many who can't even leave their own homes.
For those who can travel we offer a free freebie box of philatelic goodies when they join our societies. and for those who are housebound we offer, international zoom meetings, news letters, a contact with the philatelic auction world, in some cases club postal boxes and many more aspects of our hobby.
Where appropriate we give free, introduction boxes, the material has been given by members and dealers alike but the S.A.P.S. with Steve at the forefront has been by far the largest donator for which we thank him. There are other freebies which will be explained when people join as all will not qualify. We launched the project last Wednesday at the Poynton meeting and I attach several photographs from our memerable meeting.
We are concentrating on the Stockport aand East Cheshire area at the moment but as more societies join us we hope to reach out in the new year throught the A.B.P.S. to the whole of the United Kingdom.
If you know of anyone who will benifit from our project please contact us either through the S.A.P.C. or the Poynton website.
